Pistons Hire Respected Shooting Coach Fred Vinson

Vinson Joins Detroit Staff to Address Shooting Woes

Assistant coach brings 14 years of experience to Motown

On the surface, the Detroit Pistons' hiring of respected shooting coach Fred Vinson is a grand slam.

According to sources, Vinson is joining head coach Monty Williams' staff as an assistant, bringing with him a wealth of experience that the Pistons desperately need.

Detroit's poor shooting last season was attributed to an awkward shooting form, particularly for rising star Lonzo Ball. Vinson, who spent the previous 14 years in New Orleans, has a proven track record of improving shooting mechanics and helping players unlock their potential.

With Vinson's arrival, the Pistons are hoping to address their three-point shooting woes and take the next step in their rebuild.

Ball and fellow young star Brandon Ingram have put in extra work with shooting coaches over the offseason. Vinson's guidance is expected to further enhance their development and help the Pistons emerge as a more potent offensive threat.
